CCFC Campus at Rubel Chaim

In Q'eqchi' Maya, Rubel Chaim means "Under the stars". This is the name of the land CCFC has been leasing for the past 10 years. At the heart of the campus is our environmental education center, the place where hundreds of young women in the WALC program and thousands of primary school students in our Kids & Birds program have learned agroecology, leadership and conservation. CCFC now has the opportunity to purchase the land we have been stewarding for the past 10 years.

CCFC needs your help to purchase the land and greatly expand our campus. This land acquisition will allow CCFC to protect the land in perpetuity, expand our agroecology campus, restore habitat for wildlife, and have a secure learning environment for our students. Together with an adjacent parcel already used for our environmental education programs, CCFC will register all the land as a wildlife sanctuary with CONAP (Guatemala's National Council of Protected Areas).  This will ensure CCFC’s ownership of the land on which our buildings are located. The land with its mountains, caves, rivers and cloud forests will become a permanent sanctuary for wildlife, a classroom of the great outdoors and a living laboratory for biological research.
